Civil Society, International Organizations, and the (De)Politization of Border Deaths' Numbers

 

Antoine Pécoud ist Professor für Soziologie an der Université Sorbonne Paris Nord und assoziierter Wissenschaftler am CERI (Centre de Recherches Internationales)/Sciences Po sowie Fellow am Institut des migrations. In seiner Forschung beschäftigt sich der promovierte Sozial-Anthropologe überwiegend mit der Politik internationaler Migration und legt dabei besonderes Augenmerk auf die Rolle nicht-staatlicher Akteure in der Governance globaler Migration. Zu seinen wichtigsten Publikationen zählen The International Organization for Migration. The New 'UN Migration Agency' in Critical Perspective (2020, mit Martin Geiger) und Depoliticising Migration: Global Governance and International Migration Narratives (2015). Zuletzt erschien außerdem der Artikel Death at the border: Revisiting the debate in light of the Europ-Mediterranean migration crisis (American Behavioral Scientist 64(4), mit Marta Espert).
